Kickstarter becomes a go-to place for new games to get funding

These days people can get funding for almost anything thanks to the Internet. Platforms like Kickstarter are go-to places for new toys and games, ToyNews reports.
Kickstarter announced that for the 10 years since 2009, the gaming sector has pulled in over $1 billion in pledges. Those money went to almost 17 000 game-related projects on the site.
This works out at almost $60 000 on average per project. The tabletop gaming is the most popular sector with 69% of the funding with $686 million in total. Video games are second with $236 million.
